The Rosary Project came about after my daughter, Amanda, returned home from music school in Manhattan. I had heard the Cachini Ave Maria at a conference and instantly fell in love with it. Amanda and I started singing it at church, and the next thing you know our Pastor, Father Patrick Kirsch, asked us to sing it at every special Holy Mass and celebration.
I think what struck me the most about this Ave Maria, besides its undeniable beauty, was that it was written in the 15th century and without a doubt this composer adored the Blessed Mother. I soon realized this gift to our Lady was meant for so much more, so we went into the studio and recorded it as a meditation to the Holy Rosary audio.
It took us 3 years to complete the project. Frustrated at times, I would remind myself our goal was to get people praying the rosary and that was it! We created a devotions page here on our website and offer it to all for free.
Accepting a challenge from my husband to get the rosary on Laudate, the #1 Catholic App, this project went beyond our expectation's. Last June 2015 The Rosary Project was added to Rosary/Chaplets on Laudate and has been downloaded over 120,000.
Within the next month, a request came in to AJ from Laudate asking him for a recording of the Novena to "Our Lady Undoer of Knots"(One of Pope Francis' favorites). AJ sent us an email and asked if we would do another recording and we said "YES".
It was suggested that we petition Tom Booth, Catholic recording artist, for permission to use his song "My Lady" as a meditation. Tom accepted and was honored. It took six months and three recording studios to complete the Novena OLUK, but now it is available on our website as well as Laudate (search prayers).
I wanted to share the story of The Rosary Project and novena with you to be encouraged to trust in the slow work of God.
He has made everything suitable for its time; moreover he has put a sense of past and future into their minds, yet they cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end. Ecclesiastes 3:11
God has great plans for you. He has given each one of you beautiful gifts and ideas.
Trust him:) it will go beyond your expectations.
